The Met Ball is arguably the biggest red carpet fashion event of the year. Even if you have no idea what the Met Ball actually is, you definitely have noticed what everyone was wearing and by now you’ve probably seen about a thousand pictures of the best and worst dressed. This year the Met Ball pays tribute to Charles James, an American designer honoured in the Met’s new exhibition. Refinery 29 enlisted Katie Rodgers, a fashion illustrator to draw her favourite moments of the evening.
These 10 minute watercolour and rhinestone gestural paintings perfectly capture the whimsical romantic theme of this year’s Met Ball.
Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin and dream of ever wearing those gowns.
